IV Nutrient Therapy

What is IV Therapy?

Intravenous (IV) therapy is the therapeutic administration of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other substances directly into the blood stream. IVs bypass the normal route of absorption of nutrients through the gastrointestinal tract. This is necessary for several reasons. First, it allows administration of higher amounts of nutrients than can be normally absorbed orally. For example, high dose vitamin C is often helpful in improving immune function. However, oral dosage is limited by gastrointestinal irritation. On the other hand, IV administration of vitamin C can deliver doses 10-20x oral dosage that are sufficient for therapy. Secondly, IVs allow nutrients to bypass a compromised GI system (i.e., Crohn’s, IBD, and Celiac Disease) that would not allow adequate oral absorption.

IV Therapy is useful in many conditions:

• Acute Colds and Flu
• Pre/Post Athletic Performance
• Chelation for Cardiovascular Disease
• Chelation for Heavy Metal Toxicity
• Chronic Fatigue
• Asthma
• Macular Degeneration
• Environmental Sensitivity
• Chronic Immune Dysfunction
• Fibromyalgia
• General Health Maintenance
