What is Cellular Drainage?
Cellular drainage, also called Unda or Biotherapeutic Drainge, uses tinctures to stimulate drainage of cellular waste from cells.
What is Used?
Cellular drainage is done with Unda remedies. Unda remedies are extractions of minerals and botanicals in a liquid form. Unda remedies are administered orally in drop doses several times per day.
How are Undas Prescribed?
Instead of names, Unda remedies are numbered. Remedies are typically prescribed in a combination of three numbered remedies. There are 76 Unda numbered remedies, each with a specific purpose. A common starting protocol uses Unda #1, 20, and 243 to support basic liver and gastrointestinal drainage. Depending on your condition, Dr. Wilkinson will prescribe Unda remedies that support general drainage or other combinations that will support drainage specific to your condition. It is common to start treatment with general drainage remedy combinations and then progress to more specific drainage remedies.
Cellular Drainage in Detail
Cellular drainage is based on the understanding that all disease is associated with an inability to drain waste. Waste comes from normal physiologic function as well as exposure through food, water, air, medication, and other environmental sources.
From a macro level, the body’s primary method of waste elimination is through the intestines, liver, lungs, and kidneys. If any of these pathways are compromised (e.g., constipation, poor liver function, lack of urine excretion, or poor respiration), disease develops and waste elimination must take place through the secondary routes of the skin, mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, sinuses, and vaginal tract for women.
On a micro level, waste also accumulates within individual cells. This waste must move from the internal cellular space out through the cell wall into the extra-cellular space and finally into venous and lymphatic drainage where it can be eliminated though the primary and secondary routes mentioned above.
Unda remedies support cellular detoxification
When any of these pathways are compromised, cellular waste accumulates predisposing the body to acute and chronic disease such as auto-immunity, fatigue, eczema, asthma, environmental sensitivities, gastrointestinal disease, cardiovascular disease, respiratory infections, systemic inflammation, and pain.
Addressing the cause of disease by improving waste elimination starts with the naturopathic treatments such as proper diet, gastro-intestinal function, and avoidance of environmental exposure. These all work at the macro level to support detoxification. Unda Remedies are then added to support drainage at the cellullar level.
